Rutherglen Primary School Camps & Excursions
Rutherglen Primary School Camps

Our camps experience begins in Year 2 with the Year 2 Sleepover at school which is always an eagerly anticipated event for these students.

Each year, our Year 3 to 6 students are given the opportunity to participate in a school camp. These camps are aligned with the learning that has and often continues to take place through the integrated learning unit based around the Victorian Curriculum.  Camps provide an opportunity for students to develop independence, strengthen connections with their peers, and often challenge them to try and experience new things.

All students are encouraged to attend camp which is not only a wonderful experience for them that they will remember for a very long time, but it also supports students developing independence, co-operation, responsibility and resilience among the many benefits that camp experiences can provide.

Students in Foundation – Year 2 participate in an annual excursion to an event or place that is designed to enhance the learning that is being undertaken in the integrated unit of learning.  As opportunities arise, students across the school may participate in excursions that complement the learning they are undertaking at the time.
