Buddy Program

Our Year 6 Buddies are a valued and important component of the transition to school process for our new Foundation students.  The formation of our Buddy Team occurs at the end of November each year to provide support for our new Foundation students throughout the Transition Program which occurs in November and December.  This enables our Foundation students and Year 6 Buddies to form a connection prior to them commencing school in order to make the start to school as supported and happy as possible.

Our Buddies are easily identifiable in the playground with their bright royal blue vests with Buddy on the back and this gives our Foundation students comfort in knowing where the Buddies are when they need them whilst at the same time supporting their independence.
This is a valuable experience for both age groups as it fosters leadership, responsibility and empathy in our school.
